Massage and stretching are two techniques that are inextricably linked to physiotherapy treatment.
Massage is primarily used to reduce pain, muscle tension and swelling. Also, massage contributes to a good relationship between the therapist and the patient.
Stretching helps to improve the flexibility of muscles and tissues and avoid contractures. Stretching exercises can be performed by the therapist (passive) or by the patient himself (active).
Massage and stretching are commonly performed prior to and after an exercise session. We teach owners how to perform simple massage and stretching exercises at home.
