To schedule a behavioural consultation for your dog, please contact the secretariat at 09/264 77 00.
The necessary documents, including the questionnaire, a layout of the home environment, and instructions for video recordings, can be found below. These must be submitted no later than one week prior to the consultation via email to gedragsdiergeneeskunde@ugent.be. Videos can be easily sent via www.wetransfer.com. If the questionnaire and videos are not received on time, the appointment will be rescheduled.
The initial consultation lasts approximately 1.5 hours. During this session, we analyse your dog’s behaviour based on the completed questionnaire and submitted videos. Following this analysis, we formulate a diagnosis, which we then discuss with you. You will receive a written report with concrete advice and a treatment plan.
The cost for an initial consultation is €320 (VAT included). Follow-up consultations last 45 minutes and cost €130 (VAT included).
To ensure the appointment runs smoothly, please bring your dog’s vaccination booklet and any relevant medical records. Also bring a mat or blanket your dog feels comfortable on, as well as preferred treats or toys. We strongly recommend that all individuals who regularly interact with your dog be present during the consultation, so we can obtain a complete picture of the home situation and the social context.
