Pressure plate test

Since September 2018, we have been adding pressure plate testing to our standard orthopaedic examination. Because our clinic often deals with animals that already have chronic orthopaedic problems, which are difficult or impossible to localise in primary care practices, pressure plate testing is indispensable in today's high-quality veterinary medicine. An additional advantage is that this allows us to ensure more objective monitoring of lameness, enabling more accurate intervention during the healing process if necessary.

The examination is completely painless. The animal simply has to walk across a platform equipped with a pressure plate a number of times. This provides us with a complete gait analysis, measuring both the forces and the duration of the load.

Each owner and referring vet will receive a document by email containing the results of the measurements. The detailed explanation will be discussed with the owner at the time of the consultation. The referring vet will receive a summary of the results based on normal load via the report.
