Behavioural Consultation - Cats

To schedule a behavioural consultation for your cat, please contact the secretariat at 09/264 77 00.

The necessary documents, including the questionnaire, a layout of the living environment, and instructions for video footage, are available below. Please send these documents via email to gedragsdiergeneeskunde@ugent.be at least one week before the appointment. Videos can be submitted via www.wetransfer.com. If the documents are submitted late, the appointment will need to be rescheduled.

The first consultation lasts approximately 1.5 hours. We evaluate your cat’s behaviour based on the completed questionnaire and submitted videos. Based on this information, we formulate a diagnosis, which we then discuss with you. A written report, including personalized advice and a treatment plan, will be provided afterward.

The cost for an initial consultation is €320 (including VAT). Follow-up consultations last 45 minutes and cost €130 (including VAT).

We recommend that all individuals who regularly interact with your cat attend the consultation. This helps us form a complete understanding of the household dynamics and your cat’s daily context. To facilitate a calm consultation, we ask that you bring your cat’s vaccination booklet and any relevant medical records. Use a familiar transport carrier, ideally with a scented blanket or item from home to reduce stress. If helpful, you may also bring your cat’s favourite treats or toys.
